Configure your remotes and set-top boxes on http://lircconfig.commandir.com and download your set-top control script to your MythTV box (/home/mythtv/ in most distros). Ensure the script is executable by your MythTV user! (chmod 755 ./chchange-device-lock.sh)

• Alternatively, download a generic chchange-device-lock.sh supporting any device from here .  

Note: It is safe to record 2+ shows at once using CommandIR to control the set-top boxes with this script. 

Enter MythTV Setup and configuration page for the tuner with the external set-top-box needing control. Enter the script name (with full path) like this:
/home/mythtv/chchange-device-lock.sh remote_name transmitter_number

For example: to configure a DirecTV set-top-box using CommandIR emitter #2 enter:
/home/mythtv/chchange-device-lock.sh directv 2

Tip: Do this for each set-top-box - just put each on a different transmitter.

Restart the MythTV Backend and it will use CommandIR to change the channels on your set-top-box.
